Reiki Training – Dr. Usui Method

The origin of Reiki is unclear.  The technique was rediscovered in the 1920’s by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan when he studied an ancient Sanskrit manuscript that mentioned a lost system of healing.  After a 21-day fast on a mountain, Usui visualized the symbols. He realized he had been given the lost healing art and called it Reiki.

People of all walks of life and spiritual backgrounds appreciate its loving and beneficial healing powers. A Reiki treatment is a very simple, non intrusive and extremely powerful process. It is usually done with the recipient lying down, fully clothed and covered with a blanket, on a treatment couch.

Rei means “Universal” and refers also to the spiritual dimension and the soul.  Ki means the vital life-force energy, which flows through all that is alive.  Combined they present the concept of “Universal life-force energy.”

Reiki is a system of subtle energy, which can be used for the purpose of healing; using the laying on of the hands and instant healing techniques.

When a person is stressed or ill, their life force energy is low; when a person is more likely to resist illness, their life force is high. The Reiki practitioner, can open a channel through which energy flows, channeling the energy coming through his/her upper energy center and our through the hands to the recipient, thus increasing the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The Reiki healing energy goes exactly where it is needed. People experience that after a series of Reiki treatments, they are able to take responsibility for their living and make the necessary changes to bring a happier and healthier life.

Reiki is divided into three levels: : 

Reiki Level I - Learn the traditions of Reiki including the theory, the chakra system, hand positions and systems that help you effectively communicate with your clients.

Reiki Level II - Second Level training lets you go many steps further, offering Long Distance Healing using symbols and more advanced methods that make your healing abilities far more potent.

Reiki Level III - Master/Teacher – Third level training you will be attuned to the Masters level and learn advanced levels of energy work. You will become a Teacher and train others in the art of Reiki.
